How We Tile
- 1
Layout & Quote
We plan the layout — centring, cuts, pattern, and grout lines — before quoting a fixed price on prep, setting, and grouting.
- 2
Substrate & Waterproofing
Cement board, uncoupling membranes, and shower waterproofing systems installed to spec — tile is only as good as what is under it.
- 3
Set, Grout & Seal
Tile set with full thinset coverage and levelled edges, grouted, sealed, and finished with colour-matched silicone at every change of plane.
Why HMH for Tile
Large-Format Specialists
Big tiles show every substrate flaw. We flatten floors and walls first, so 24x48 porcelain lies flat with no lippage.
Wet-Area Discipline
Every shower gets a real waterproofing system with flood-tested pans — never just tile on drywall.
Clean Lines
Mitred outside corners, centred layouts, and consistent grout joints — the details you notice every day for years.

Tile Questions
Porcelain or ceramic — which is better?
Porcelain is denser and better for floors and wet areas; ceramic is fine for walls and backsplashes and often cheaper. We help you pick per surface.
What is lippage and how do you avoid it?
Lippage is uneven tile edges. We avoid it by flattening the substrate, using levelling systems on large tile, and back-buttering where needed.
Do you re-tile over old tile?
Rarely — height and adhesion problems usually make removal the right call. We will tell you honestly which situation you have.
How soon can we use the new shower?
Typically 72 hours after grouting and silicone, so materials cure fully. We confirm the exact timing at handover.
