How We Install Floors
- 1
Measure & Quote
We measure every room, factor stairs, transitions, and trim, and quote supply-and-install or install-only at a fixed price.
- 2
Subfloor Prep
Old flooring out, subfloor screwed down, levelled, and moisture-checked — the step that separates a good floor from a creaky one.
- 3
Install & Finish
Flooring laid with proper expansion gaps, matched transitions, new baseboards or quarter-round, and a clean site at the end of every day.
Why HMH for Flooring
Prep Obsessed
Most flooring complaints trace back to skipped prep. We level, fasten, and moisture-test before a single plank goes down.
Stairs & Details
Stair treads, nosings, vents, and transitions handled in-house — the details that show the difference between installers.
Whole-Home Ready
As a full renovation contractor we coordinate flooring with painting, trim, and kitchens — one schedule instead of four contractors.

Flooring Questions
Which flooring should I choose?
Depends on the room: engineered hardwood or LVP for main floors, LVP for basements and wet-risk areas, and hardwood where you want the real thing. We will give you straight advice for your case.
How long does installation take?
A typical main floor takes two to four days including prep. Whole homes with stairs usually run about a week.
Can you install over my existing floor?
Sometimes — but we only do it when the substrate is sound and heights work at doors and transitions. If it needs to come out, we tell you and price it in.
Do you fix squeaky subfloors?
Yes — refastening and levelling the subfloor is standard prep on our installs, and usually cures the squeaks for good.
